iFaith versus TinyUmbrella??

I heard mixed info on what to use to preserve the ability to downgrade...What is everyone else doing/using? So far I'm on ios5 with everything saved via iFaith. Want to upgrade to ios5.0.1 for this "new" untethered jailbreak in the mist...any suggrstions?

Windows vs. Mac + Windows

I personally prefer iFaith, never liked or used TinyUmbrella much

Nice feedback so TU for the macs I see...Just wondering if the way iFaith "cooks" the firware if going to be compatible with future jb's...

tinyumbrella failed in my attempt to downgrade from ios 5.01 to 4.3.3

iFaith was successful so iFaith has my vote this time around

I've only used TU, and its a pain in the ass when it comes to restoring the phone...
some setting is always turned back on in TU

I don't think I'm smart enough to run a virtual machine on my mac, so do I need to upgrade to 5.0.1 from 5.0.0 to use TU correctly now since apple doesn't use shsh any more???

It all depends exactly... TU u can use it's own built in SSH server to restore and for me TU didn't save 5.0.1 SHSH for me so i had to use iFaith so now if i want to restore to 5.0.1 if 5.1 is release i use iFaith since i had my SHSH there and make my custom firmware using iFaith and restore in itunes without prob...any other version i can use TU because i have passed saved SHSH in that...iFaith allows u to save SHSH on ur current firmware that ur on right now...

it's all depends on exactly which firmware and what u have saved but both methods build a custom firmware for u....so i like BOTH...

I'm with you...I went both ways ...used both methods to save blobs...now that there is the untether out may stay at ios 5.0.1 forever

On ios5 you can not make a downgrade with just shsh blobs, so that means that TinyUbrela not working on ios5. You need APT TICKET and SHSH and iFaith doing it, So there is no option until TU does not update.
